NEW PUBLICATION - TRAININGCONCEPT FOR PATIENTS WITH BACK PAIN

"Training concept for patients with back pain - PhysioNovo - Applied Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy" is published by Springer Nature Verlag in June 2023.

To the best of my knowledge, the PhysioNovo concept is the first and only concept that has elaborateda specific exercise and training principle for people, including athletes, with back pain in detail in a practical way and underpinned it in a clinically rational way.

The PhysioNovo training concept focuses on the close connections between joint and muscle function.

Content:
This practical book provides all the essentials for findings, differential diagnosis, prevention and motor treatment in physiotherapy, sports therapy, and rehabilitation for patients with back pain. How do I ideally treat scapular dyskinesia in connection with neck or shoulder pain? What influence does the hip joint as a motor center have on the sacroiliac joint? How are paradoxical tension patterns of the abdominal muscles related to arm and leg motor function? The expert provides the answers in this book!
From the contents: - Articular (nociceptive) sensory and motor control in back pain - Radiological and clinical motor diagnosis - Integral shoulder, hip, and trunk motor and locomotor function - Regional interdependencies such as hip-spine syndrome and hip-pelvic floor correlation Plus: Over 50 videos on the individual exercises via Springer Nature More Media app.
Understand joint and muscle functions in back pain and help reduce pain and improve your patient's quality of life with the right exercises.

PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC TRAINING FOR BACK PAIN

I have set down this anatomical and physiological background to this vision in a book (in German only): Physiotherapeutisches Training bei Rückenschmerzen; motorische Befunderhebung und Behandlung, a German-language manual published by scientific publisher Springer Nature in June 2018

Cover text: “A new vision for back pain” This book provides physiotherapists, sports scientists and rehabilitation trainers with a completely new vision of the origin and development of back pain and the consequences of this for training therapy. The experienced author explains the problems involved in diagnosing back pain, puts forward a new vision with respect to biomechanics, and comes up with useful measures for medical training. Above all, students and newly qualified physiotherapists and sports scientists will find easy-to-follow theoretical and practical information for a complete therapeutic approach to patients with back pain.”

Content:

  • Pain physiology, biomechanical principles, motor learning.
  • Biomechanical approach to back pain in relation to weakened peripheral joints
  • Research and treatment at a motor-control/functional level

EXERCISE TREATMENT TECHNIQUES AND METHODS IN PHYSIOTHERAPY

This essential introduces the most important exercise treatment methods of physiotherapy. The current significance of medical exercise treatment in the entire treatment spectrum of physiotherapy is considered and an outlook is given on the further development of medical exercise treatment within the framework of the current academisation of physiotherapy. Alternative, passive curative methods such as manual techniques, alternative medicine and the still increasing number of spinal and joint operations threaten to displace exercise therapy more and more. Nevertheless, many exercise treatment methods have been able to establish themselves in Germany, confirming both the important role of exercise in the treatment and prevention of back problems for all age groups.

THE HISTORY OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

This essential shows the development of medical gymnastics from antiquity until today. It explains the important role that movement has always played in orthopaedicsAdditional passive procedures were always postulated as alternatives and repeatedly threatened to displace movement therapy. The only concepts that have established themselves are those that are based on active movement in the long term. The question in which discipline medical gymnastics is located is also considered. This is of significance in the discussion about the significance of physiotherapy, which is taking on a new dimension due to the current academisation.

MOTOR DEVELOPMENT AND CONTROL WITH REVIEW

The fascination of human motor skills is presented in this textbook in an understandable and vivid way. Numerous practical examples illustrate to physiotherapists and occupational therapists, sports scientists and trainers decisive cornerstones of the individual development steps from childhood to adulthood. The direct effects of unconscious controlautomation and learning processes on our lives are precisely illuminated and decoded.

The content: Neurophysiological processes of automated and voluntary movements - From our everyday life: oculo-, grapho- and speech motor skills - Hidden potentials in training and therapy

Help your patient achieve the best possible results in rehabilitation and therapy. With these basics you can optimally support athletes in popular and competitive sports and lead them to the desired success.
